Executive Summary of SSCI torture report released

Today the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released the 525 page Executive Summary of its 6,700 page report on the CIA's torture and rendition program. The executive summary, which contains lots of redactions, is here, in searchable format.

The Intercept's Glenn Greenwald is running a live blog as he reads through the report; it's worth checking out.

Other places to look for analysis on the report are Marcy Wheeler's blog, Vice new's Jason Leopold, Firedoglake's Jeff Kaye, torture expert Katherine Hawkins, and the ACLU's Ben Wizner, Jameel Jaffer, and Hina Shamsi.

The ACLU is calling for a special prosecutor and criminal investigation to look into bringing charges against officials involved in and responsible for the CIA's torture program.
