Here's more video of Oakland PD's snatch and grab tactics, deployed at the May Day general strike against Occupy Oakland demonstrators.
The OPD is mandated to follow a federal court-ordered crowd control policy, which has been in place for nine years. Recently, however, the police chief signaled that the department would change its policy in light of criticism over the department's brutal handling of the Occupy movement. The shift he proposed was to move to military/Blackwater/CIA snatch and grabs, targeting key activists in crowds, in place of lots of tear gas. Yet on May 1, police deployed both targeted arrests and tear gas.
@reclaimuc tweeted that the video above shows undercover police officers dressed as journalists at the 3:50 and 4:05 marks.
