The government shutdown didn't stop Department of Homeland Security immigration agents from continuing to deport undocumented people. But it stopped privacy at DHS dead in its tracks. Does it really matter if the DHS privacy office is up and running, though? The former DHS privacy director reportedly told a group of privacy advocates that she was routinely called a terrorist by her colleagues.
