Consider the following:
Hillary Clinton, in China: "All governments have the responsibility of addressing their citizens' aspirations for dignity and rule of law. These are not Western values, they are universal rights that apply to all people in all places."
Jeremy Scahill, of President Barack Obama and the imprisoned Yemeni journalist, Abdulelah Haider Shaye: "While international media organizations, including the Committee to Protect Journalists, the International Federation of Journalists and Reporters Without Borders, have called for Shaye’s release, his case has received scant attention in the United States. Yemeni journalists, human rights activists and lawyers have said he remains in jail at the request of the White House."
Watch the video above to hear Yemeni human rights lawyer Abdulrahman Barman talk about Yemeni journalist Abdulelah Haider Shaye's imprisonment in that country at the request of President Obama himself.
Dignity and rule of law are universal rights that apply to all people in all places, except in Yemen?
