Jeremy Scahill, of President Barack Obama and the imprisoned Yemeni journalist, Abdulelah Haider Shaye: "While international media organizations, including the Committee to Protect Journalists, the International Federation of Journalists and Reporters Without Borders, have called for Shaye’s release, his case has received scant attention in the United States. Yemeni journalists, human rights activists and lawyers have said he remains in jail at the request of the White House."
