One year ago this week, the world was shaken with the first bombshell report from the Edward Snowden disclosures. The NSA and FBI, we learned, were collecting records of every phone call made in the United States.

Despite his insistence that Edward Snowden is a criminal who should stand trial for Espionage Act violations, the President of the United States has said that the bulk phone records program Snowden disclosed should end.
