Wikileaks, grand juries, and government harassment of activists

ACLU attorneys Ben Wizner, Catherine Crump and John Reinstein spoke at the HOPE 9 hackers conference in New York City in July 2012.

Their talk is a deep dive into leaks in general, Wikileaks in particular, the nature of grand juries, and government harassment of people who have politics the government doesn't like. Bradley Manning supporter and activist David House (almost) uniquely sits at the intersection of all of these issues. The ACLU is currently representing him in a suit against the government for what we believe is inappropriate harassment due to his political activity.

NSA whistleblower Bill Binney was in the front row for the talk. Give it a listen. It's really worthwhile.

More on whistleblowers and the NSA.
