After Seymour Hersh revealed in the December 22, 1974 New York Times that the CIA had spied on Americans, President Gerald Ford set up the US President’s Commission on CIA Activities within the United States, under the direction of Vice-President Nelson Rockefeller.  The 1975 Commission investigated CIA activities and also reviewed evidence concerning the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
